New blog

Hello all! I started a new blog on tumblr since it's a little easier to manage on my cell phone, so I probably won't be updating this one very often (not that I ever did!). The address is babyabel.tumblr.com . Check it out!

Summer fun...

I know it's been almost two months since my last post, but there hasn't been much to talk about until now! First off, here I am at 26 weeks...

Sorry, I know they're always in the work bathroom, but that's the only time I remember! Everything is coming along nicely.. although the doc tells me Baby's measuring almost 2 weeks ahead, so... could be huge. I guess I should have expected that because of the size of you-know-who....

Some of the fun things we did this summer:

We went to our friends', Jordan and Amy's wedding, which was beautiful! It was really fun to head up to Beaverlodge (where Steve's from) and get to really see where he grew up. It was a fun, relaxing week.

My sister and I also went to Edmonton to see Maroon 5 and Train in concert for her 19th birthday.Have to say, it was pretty fun, even though the main attraction didn't come onstage until 10 pm... I'm feeling pretty old, because I could barely stay awake.. but it was worth it to see those moves like Jagger!!

Lastly, Steve and I just came back from camping near Lake Louise. It was pretty much the last time we'll go away on our own before the baby comes! Pretty much the last hurrah of freedom..

We've decided to stay here the house with Julee. It just wouldn't sell, so we worked it out to stay and soon we'll be taking over the main floor! I think it'll be good for everyone.

I only have a couple more months at work, which I'm really excited about since work is becoming a nuisance.. :)

Steve just came back from a big bowhunting trip in Beaverlodge last week. No pictures, and he didn't get anything, but that's ok. He had fun..

He is also out on the street with his partner now. No more training! He seems to get along really well with the guy and he's still loving his job..

That's about all we've got. I think this blog will become a little more interesting once I have something a little more interesting to write about... the adventures of child-rearing, perhaps??

Baby on the way, etc.

Ok, so I realize it's been almost a year since my last post, but I've decided that now that we have a baby on the way, I am going to be more diligent in updating this blog! I've added a few pics of the baby at 18 weeks 5 days. We don't know what the sex is, and we don't want to know.. well, at least not until the baby's born. :)

Here I am at 19 weeks.. yes, I am huge (sorry it's in the work bathroom, but that's about the only time I remember to take pictures). I don't know if this is the normal size for 19 weeks, but I FEEL like I look like I'm 6 months... but, having never been pregnant before, I don't know for sure..

Not too much is new with us. Steven will be out of his probationary period with the police in about two weeks, and then he'll be assigned to a partner, and he'll be a full-fledged police officer. I'm very proud. :) Here are a few photos of his graduation from the academy in April.

Also, we are getting ready to watch a very exciting movie (see link below). My little brother, Drew, is going to be in a movie! It's on NBC on August 6th at 8/7 central, and it's called "Who is Simon Miller?". Everyone watch, because if it gets high enough ratings, they might turn it into a series, which would be amazing!

We also gained another nephew almost two months ago. His name is Cooper. Here he is with his big brother, Ezra. They are Steve's sister, Michelle's boys, and they are pretty much adorable. :)

We're hoping to sell my mother-in-law's house this summer so that Steve and I can get our own place, but so far we've had no offers. So, I'm starting to come to terms with the fact that we might have to stay through the winter. We'll see what happens!

Well, that is all for now. I'll post some more pics as the baby gets bigger. Love you all and miss you!

Roadtrip

So, we went on a little roadtrip on August long weekend.. it was fun. We found some cool books that kind of tell you tons of touristy stuff about Alberta, so we picked a trip and went for it! First, we drove to a little town called Dickson, which was ok. It was after 5pm and the whole town was pretty much tucked in for the night.. We walked around and read some stuff on the buildings and saw the infamous Cat Man house.. well, it's not infamous yet, but it's going to be once the smell reaches Red Deer.. Ha ha. Cats coming out of holes in the roof and you could hear meowing for about 2 blocks.. gross..

Then we drove to Innisfail where stayed at a Holiday Inn! I love Holiday Inn.. We ate dinner at Lau's Chinese Restaurant.. not my idea... I was not that impressed, but Steve thought it was amazing..

The next day we went to the Wildlife Adventure Zoo... That was SO COOL.. Alot of the animals there are trained for movies, and the rest get a lot of interaction with trainers, so all the animals are so interested in people! It was really cool.. the grizzlies there are from Anchorman! h aha.. Anyway, so cute. They have jaguars and buffalo, and a zebroid! Look that one up..

After the zoo we left for Markerville.. So nice! The cutest little town ever, and it's centered around an old creamery that we took a tour of and then had ice cream after..

Then, we crossed a bridge into another world... Denmark! ha ha.. Well, it was the Danish/Canadian Museum.. It was fun. We had little Danish desserts and then wandered through all the gardens. We also went to a little Danish settlement town and walked through the museum. So, it was a fun weekend..

We also got an iMac, so I will be updating this alot more.. :)

Months..

I think it's been months since I've posted anything, but here I am! Things are great, but not much to tell. I'm working now, so I don't have nearly as much time as I used to! But, Christmas was really nice, aside from the Boxing Day stomach virus.. Here are some pictures, pre-virus.. Pay close attention to the one's of Baby Ezra.. He's cute..

Marcus got a recorder for Christmas! Look at him trying to learn to play.. he's trying so hard...that's so sweet..

Steven's new thing is giving thumb's up in every picture.. so weird..

Anyway, other than that, there's not much to tell. We've been doing a little of everything.. snowboarding (I've done it twice, and the second time nearly killed my body, but it's fun), hockey games, hanging out with friends (old and new), and pretty much just living life.. Wish I had more time to share, but that's about all for now. Hope everyone's doing great!

i'm back...

ok, so i have had a couple people ask me why i'm not blogging anymore, so i figure now that i'm very far away, i better start up again. i am not interesting. i will just say that right now. so, you know, don't expect anything fancy or funny, or like, really good blogging stuff. ha ha. i will try my hardest, though.

so, a couple things: I dyed my hair dark brown. here is a picture:

At first, i dyed it just to get it back to my natural color (which this is not!!) and then highlight it again. But, now I'm thinking I like this and it's almost winter (well, here in CANADA, it's almost winter), so I may just keep it. Steve doesn't like dark, though. He's into blondes... ;)

Second of all, we have been doing alot of hiking and camping this summer, which is fun. We volunteer with a youth group for inner city kids, and we went on a REAL camping trip. No showers or toilets. I've done that once before, but last time there was a decent outhouse. Not this time. I should have taken a picture of our toilet. THAT would have been a good blog. HA HA. Just kidding. Here are some camping/hiking pics. More will follow by the end of summer, cause I'm going camping again this weekend AND next weekend!

Lastly, I miss all my friends and family. Especially you, Laura, Drew and Mom! I really hope I can come down and visit soon. I have to get a job first, but I'm working on it. Love you guys, and I will try to... no I WILL keep up the blogging from now on. :)

Productivity...

Things I have accomplished since cancelling cable:
1. Knitted 1/2 of a blanket
2. Read 1 1/2 books out of 3 of the Mark of Lion Series, by Francine Rivers (which is the most amazing book I have ever read... I bawl every time I read it and want to go out and preach about Jesus so I can be fed to lions! Just kidding. I've read it 12 times).
3. Packed my entire apartment, labeling each box with the room it will belong to and a box number that corresponds to a list of goods, which outlines EVERY item in the box and approx. value (if known), and also lists all the furniture we will be bringing with approx. value. Ok, so I haven't done the WHOLE apartment, but it'll be done tomorrow!
4. Cancelled all my bills in America
5. Made new bills in Canada
6. Filed all my paid bills into my accordion file
7. Bought too many new things, i.e. clothes and picture frames (for our wedding pictures!)
8. Accomplished a general productivity, of which I have never really known before...

Things I've accomplished since 24 came out on DVD last week:
1. Zilch.
